CBT therapy across the North West

The North West has the largest population of any English region outside London, and the therapy provision reflects it. Manchester, Liverpool and Chester all have strong private-practice communities; the Lancashire and Cheshire NHS services consistently outperform national averages on recovery rates.

NHS routes include Six Degrees in Salford, Self Help Services across Greater Manchester, Talk Liverpool, Talking Matters Northumberland (for the upper boundary), Mindsmatter in Lancashire, and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Talking Therapies. All accept self-referral.

Private fees range from £80–£110 in central Manchester and the Cheshire commuter towns to £65–£90 in Lancashire and the Wirral. Manchester has unusually strong provision of CBT for OCD and health anxiety, partly because of the research base at the University of Manchester.
