East of England
CBT therapy across the East of England
The East of England is a region of contrasts — Cambridge has more CBT therapists per capita than almost any city outside London; rural Norfolk and Suffolk have very few in-person options outside the main towns.
Each county runs its own Talking Therapies service: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is Psychological Wellbeing Service, Norfolk and Waveney is Wellbeing, Suffolk is also Wellbeing, Essex runs Therapy For You and Health in Mind Essex, Hertfordshire is HPFT, and Bedfordshire and Luton is East London NHS Foundation Trust. All accept self-referral and offer a mixture of in-person, video, telephone and group formats.
Private fees cluster around £80–£100 across most of the region, with Cambridge and St Albans at the higher end. Online CBT is well-established here — many therapists who trained in Cambridge or Norwich now see clients across the whole region by video.
